Our Charity Christmas Market

Festive cheer filled Templeton House Care Home this December, as we hosted our much-loved Christmas Market for our community. The wonderful event brought together residents, relatives, friends and staff in aid of the brilliant Make-A-Wish charity.

Mrs Claus made a special appearance, much to the delight of the residents' younger family members in attendance. Smiles and seasonal magic were spread throughout the home as guests warmed up with mulled wine and hot chocolate, perfectly paired with delicious mince pies.

We were delighted to also welcome several outside vendors, offering homemade ginger wine, traditional tablet, beautiful Christmas wreaths, and a variety of festive gifts. Our hugely successful bake stall featured bakes lovingly made and donated by staff and their families. Excitement and energy surrounded the tombola stall and fun competitions such as Guess the Weight of the Christmas Cake, (kindly made by one of our relatives) and Guess the Name of the Gonk, with a festive hamper of goodies as the prize.

Exciting events like these are a chance for our residents' families to spend quality time together and give everyone something to look forward to in these chillier months. Social interaction with friends and family is vital for residents' emotional support, increasing self-esteem and boosting mood. By bringing our community together to support a meaningful charity, residents benefits from a sense of belonging, purpose and fulfilment.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to help us raise an amazing £290 for the Make-a-Wish UK charity.
