Our residents enjoyed a lovely trip to Rozelle House in Ayr, stepping back in time through the Tam o’ Shanter Experience. Inspired by one of Scotland’s best-known poems, the visit offered a wonderful opportunity to explore local history, share stories and enjoy a change of scenery together.
Written by Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, Tam o’ Shanter tells the tale of Tam’s frightening encounter with witches after a night out. The experience at Rozelle House brings elements of this famous story to life, celebrating the characters, places and folklore that have become an important part of Ayrshire’s cultural heritage.

For our residents, the outing was a chance to enjoy something a little different while connecting with the history on our doorstep. Exploring local attractions can spark conversations, encourage people to share their own memories and create opportunities to learn something new together. Familiar places and stories can also bring back treasured recollections, making a trip like this meaningful in different ways for everyone.
Days out are an important part of life at Templeton Care Home. Whether residents are revisiting favourite places, enjoying local culture or experiencing something for the first time, we love creating opportunities to get out into the community and spend quality time together. A change of surroundings can offer fresh experiences, new things to talk about and plenty of moments to remember.
