Templeton House Summer Fete Raises Over £1,000

Templeton House Care Home in Ayr was filled with fun, laughter and community spirit as residents, families, friends and local people came together for the home’s Summer Fete.

There was plenty to enjoy throughout the afternoon, with entertainment, food, local vendors, raffles and a kids’ zone giving visitors lots to see and do. The home’s garden was looking its best for the occasion, with staff working hard in the days leading up to the event to get everything ready.

The Summer Fete was also a fantastic opportunity to bring the local community together and raise funds to benefit residents at Templeton House. There was a real sense of generosity throughout the afternoon, with visitors getting involved in the different activities and supporting the event.

One of the highlights was Beat the Keeper, which saw young visitor Daniel take on the challenge to raise money for his football team, Annbank United 2014. He did a fantastic job, raising £86 through the activity and adding to the community spirit of the day.

There was also wonderful support from local groups and businesses. The team would like to thank BRUSH for sponsoring the wine, everyone who donated prizes, and the Highland Dancers who generously volunteered their time to entertain visitors.

A special thank you also goes to the Templeton House team members who came in on their days off to help make the event possible, as well as all the families, friends, community members and even some four-legged visitors who came along to support the fete.

After all the hard work and generous donations, the final total raised at the Summer Fete came to an incredible £1,060.17. Of this, £974.17 will go directly towards benefiting residents at Templeton House, while £86 was raised separately for Annbank United 2014 through Beat the Keeper.

With the success of the Summer Fete to build on, the team is already looking ahead to the next community celebration, with the Templeton House Winter Fete planned for 19 December!
