Templeton Care Home is a purpose-built, luxury care home located on the coast of Ayr, South Ayrshire. Our home features 72 en-suite bedrooms all beautifully designed for optimal comfort and convenience. Templeton Care Home provides excellent levels of Residential, Nursing, Respite and Dementia care on a 24-hour basis for older people. 

We are able to create a fulfilling quality of life and enhance residents well being with the help of our modern facilities. Residents can use these facilities whenever suits them and at no extra cost. Just a few of the amenities on offer at our care home in Ayr include a lovely dining room with patio doors, a full activities programme, stunning gardens, beauty salon, cinema and library.

We strive for residents to make good use of their stay at our Ayrshire care home. That’s why we have a dedicated activities team that works tirelessly to produce suitable activities and events for our residents. By creating a weekly activities programme, residents can look forward to a plethora of activities. In the past, residents have participated in arts & crafts, balloon tennis, baking and solving puzzles, as well as creating handmade decorations for special days such as Burns Night and Valentine’s Day. We ensure that the activities offered to residents meet a full range of interests and abilities, and we are proud to be inclusive for all.

Exploring Ayr & The Surrounding Areas

Positioned in the pleasant coastal town of Ayr, our elderly care home is located in the perfect spot for our residents. Just a short stroll from Ayr beach promenade, residents can enjoy being by the seaside all year round. Surrounding the home are an array of shops, restaurants, pubs, monuments and attractions. The Old Racecourse Pavilion, LA Bowl Ayr, Corsehill Park and Gardens, and Ayr Town Centre (ideal for shopping) are just a stone’s throw away. 

Residents can either use the public transport nearby or utilise our chauffeur service. Templeton has its very own Mercedes on-site and a chauffeur ready to take residents to their required destination. This is included within the overall care home fee therefore we recommend our residents to use this service as much as possible. We organise regular trips to the local community as we believe it’s important for residents to see new sights and to establish their favourite spots in the local area where they can go and spend time with friends and family.

Residential Care

We provide a pleasant lifestyle for residents at our residential care home in Ayr. Residential care is most appropriate for those who are unable to maintain a household or need assistance with daily tasks. Residents can enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle, spending time with other like-minded people, and experience fantastic cuisine created by our in-house chef and catering team all within a caring environment. 

Every resident will have a customised care plan created by our knowledgeable team. This will ensure everyone is receiving the most appropriate care at all times, and care plans can be monitored and altered if care needs change, such as if a resident needs nursing care later down the line. In our residential care unit, we encourage individuals to do the things they enjoy, just as they would in their own homes but with the support they require for an easier way of life.

Nursing Care

Nursing care is a type of care provided to those who require a more advanced type of care. Our high quality nursing care services helps those with physical disabilities, high dependency needs and long-term health conditions, as well as palliative care for those need end of life care.  

Our nursing home consists of a team of qualified nursing staff, care assistants and specialist nursing equipment for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Every resident will be assigned a key worker or nurse who will take care of their needs and support them during all times of day and night, should they need it.

Dementia Care

Some care homes provide dementia care, and we are one of them. Our staff are trained to the highest level to deal with dementia at all stages. Some people living with dementia may need minor assistance whereas others may need significantly more, but no matter how much care and support a resident requires, the highest standards of specialist care will always be provided. 

Our dementia care team goes the extra mile to learn about the lives our residents have lived, as well as their likes, dislikes, abilities and preferences to provide the best possible care. Our home has been thoughtfully designed to ensure all residents feel relaxed and safe in a homely environment, from the colours and furnishings used in each room, to the meaningful activities we provide.

Respite care is a type of short-term care offered to those who are recovering from a fall or are recovering from an illness and need a place to stay while they recover. People who are full-time carers for a loved one and need a break from their responsibilities will greatly benefit.
